musen is an AI-powered music discovery platform that learns your tastes and delivers personalized audio experiences. Whether you want to discover new music through our AI DJ, listen to curated segments, or create your own audio content, musen puts you in control of your listening experience.

Getting Started

Creating Your Account

1. Visit musen.live
2. Click "Enter musen" on the landing page
3. Select "Register" to create a new account
4. Choose your registration method:
   • Email: Enter your email, create a username, and set a password
   • Google Sign-In: Click the Google button to sign in with your Google account
5. Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
6. Click "Create Account"

The Onboarding Experience

After creating your account, you'll be guided through a quick onboarding process:

Step 1: Language Selection

Choose your preferred language for the app interface and content recommendations.

Step 2: How It Works

A brief introduction explaining musen's core features and how to use them.

Step 3: Train Your Radio

This is where musen starts learning your taste. You'll see a series of interest cards representing different genres, moods, and themes.

• Swipe Right or tap the heart icon for interests you love
• Swipe Left or tap the X icon for interests that aren't for you
• Complete at least 3 swipes to continue

Step 4: Premium Trial Offer

You may be offered a free trial of Premium features. You can accept or skip this step.

First-Time User Checklist

After onboarding, here's what we recommend:

• Explore the Explore tab to discover popular segments
• Try making your first AI DJ request on the Home screen
• Browse the Search tab to find specific genres or creators
• Visit your Account tab to customize your profile
• Consider training your radio further for better recommendations

Navigating the App

The Navigation Bar

musen uses a bottom navigation bar with five main sections:

Desktop vs. Web Browser Layout

On larger screens (desktop/tablet), musen displays a split layout:

• Left Panel: The AI DJ (Home) interface is always visible
• Right Panel: Other sections (Explore, Search, Create, Account) appear here

This allows you to browse content while maintaining control of your playback.

Navigation Indicators

The navigation bar provides visual feedback:

• Active tab: Highlighted to show your current location
• Radio status indicator: The Home tab icon changes color:
  • White: Normal state
  • Yellow: Live Radio is active
  • Red: You're broadcasting "On Air" (Creator tier)

AI DJ (Home Screen)

The AI DJ is your personal music curator. It's the heart of musen and where you'll spend most of your listening time.

The Interface

• Rotating Disc: Displays the current segment's cover art. The disc spins while audio is playing.
• Now Playing Info: Shows the current track, segment name, and creator at the top of the screen.
• Prompt Button: The central button (speech bubble icon) opens the request modal.
• Play/Pause: Tap the disc or use the play button to control playback.
• Skip: Skip to the next track using the forward button.
• Live Radio Toggle: Switch between AI DJ mode and Live Radio mode.

Making a Request

1. Tap the Prompt button in the center of the screen
2. Type your request in natural language, for example:
   • "Play something upbeat for my morning workout"
   • "I want relaxing jazz for studying"
   • "Give me 90s hip hop classics"
   • "Something like Radiohead but more electronic"
3. Tap Send to submit your request
4. The AI DJ will curate content based on your request

Request Limits

Your monthly AI DJ requests depend on your subscription tier:

Your remaining requests are displayed in the prompt modal.

Understanding Playback

• Segments play automatically one after another
• The AI DJ learns from what you listen to and skip
• You can like segments to improve future recommendations

Explore

The Explore tab is your gateway to discovering new content created by the musen community.

Browsing Segments

• Segments are displayed in a masonry grid layout
• Each card shows:
  • Cover image
  • Segment title
  • Creator name
  • Duration
• Scroll down to load more content (infinite scroll)
• Pull down to refresh the feed

Interacting with Segments

• Tap a segment to view its full details
• Tap the creator name to visit their profile
• Use the like button to save segments you enjoy

Search

The Search tab helps you find exactly what you're looking for.

Using Search

1. Tap the search bar at the top
2. Enter your search term (artist, genre, mood, creator name, etc.)
3. Results are grouped into categories:
   • Users: Creator profiles
   • Live Radios: Active radio stations
   • Segments: Audio content

Discovery Sections

When not actively searching, the Search tab displays curated content:

• Creator's Top 10: Featured creators to follow
• Live Radio Top 10: Popular radio stations (horizontal scroll)
• Segment's Top 40: Trending segments in a masonry grid

Search Tips

• Search by genre: "jazz", "electronic", "classical"
• Search by mood: "relaxing", "energetic", "melancholic"
• Search by topic: "workout", "study", "party"
• Search by creator: Enter a username to find specific creators
• Search by language: Find content in specific languages

Segment Details

When you tap on a segment, you'll see its full details page.

What You'll See

• Cover Image: Full-width artwork for the segment
• Title: The segment's name
• Creator: Tap to visit their profile
• Frequency: The creator's unique identifier
• Description: What the segment is about
• Duration: Total length of the segment
• Language: The segment's primary language
• Tags: Clickable tags for related content

Available Actions

• Play Button: Start playing the segment immediately
• Like Button: Add to your liked content (heart icon)
• Share Button: Copy link or share via native sharing
• Back Button: Return to your previous screen

Create Screen

The Create screen lets you produce your own audio segments using AI.

Two Creation Modes

1. Music Only: Create a segment with just music, no spoken content
2. Add Speakers: Create a talk show-style segment with AI-generated hosts

Tap the toggle at the top to switch between modes.

Creating a Music-Only Segment

1. Navigate to the Create tab
2. Ensure "Music" mode is selected
3. Enter your Music Prompt describing what you want:
   • "Upbeat indie rock perfect for a road trip"
   • "Smooth lo-fi beats for late night coding"
   • "Epic orchestral music for gaming"
4. Select the Language for any metadata
5. Review the credit cost displayed at the bottom
6. Tap "Generate Segment"

Creating a Talk Show Segment

1. Navigate to the Create tab
2. Select "Add speakers" mode
3. Enter your Topic Prompt describing the talk show theme:
   • "A discussion about the history of electronic music"
   • "Tips for beginner guitarists"
   • "The best albums of the 2000s"
4. Enter your Music Prompt for background/transition music
5. Select the Number of Speakers (1-4)
6. Select the Language
7. Review the credit cost
8. Tap "Generate Segment"

Using the Magic Button

Stuck for ideas? Tap the Magic button (wand icon) next to any prompt field to get AI-generated suggestions based on your input.

Credit Costs

Segment creation costs vary based on complexity:

After Creation

1. You'll see a confirmation screen after submitting
2. Your segment enters the generation queue
3. Track progress in your Account tab under "Your latest creations"
4. Generation typically takes a few minutes
5. Once complete, your segment is available in your profile

Live Radio

Live Radio lets you create your own personal AI-powered radio station.

What is Live Radio?

Live Radio is a continuous, personalized stream that:

• Plays music based on your preferences and requests
• Can include an AI host that introduces tracks and provides commentary
• Can be customized with your own branding
• Can be broadcast publicly (Creator tier)

Accessing Live Radio

1. Go to the Home screen (AI DJ)
2. Tap the Live Radio toggle to switch modes
3. Your personal Live Radio will start playing

Configuring Your Station

Tap the Settings button (gear icon) to customize your Live Radio:

Basic Settings

• Radio Name: Give your station a unique name
• Description: Describe what your station is about
• Avatar: Upload or select an image for your station

Host Settings

• Enable Host Speaker: Toggle AI commentary on/off
• Voice: Choose from Man, Woman, Girl, or Boy
• Personality: Select a speaking style:
  • Neutral: Balanced, straightforward delivery
  • Serious: Professional, informative tone
  • Funny: Light-hearted, entertaining commentary
  • Custom: Write your own personality prompt
• Speaker Interval: How often the host speaks (every 4, 6, 10, or 12 songs)

Radio Prompt

Customize what your AI host talks about by editing the radio instruction prompt.

Making Live Requests

While listening to Live Radio:

1. Tap the Prompt button
2. Enter what you want to hear
3. The AI will incorporate your request into the stream

Going On Air (Creator Tier)

Creator tier subscribers can broadcast their Live Radio publicly:

1. Open Live Radio Settings
2. Toggle "Go On Air"
3. Your station becomes discoverable by other users
4. A share button appears to promote your broadcast
5. Your profile shows you're currently live

Listening to Other Live Radios

1. Use Search to find Live Radios
2. Visit a Creator's profile who is broadcasting
3. Tap "Listen to Live Radio" to tune in

Account & Profile

The Account tab is your personal hub for managing your musen presence.

Account Overview

Your Account screen displays:

• Profile Card: Your avatar, username, and frequency
• Credit Balance: Your current credits
• Quick Actions:
  • Settings
  • Buy Credits
  • Go Premium / My Subscription
• Additional Features:
  • Train Radio (improve recommendations)
  • Interactions (your liked content)
• Share musen: Invite friends
• Your Latest Creations: Segments you've created

Viewing Your Profile

Tap your profile card or avatar to view your public profile as others see it.

Premium and Creator profiles include:

• Banner image
• Bio
• Website link
• Tabs for Segments, followers, and following

Editing Your Profile

1. Tap Settings on your Account screen
2. Or tap the edit icon on your profile
3. You can modify:
   • Username: Your display name
   • Bio: A short description about yourself
   • Website: A link to your personal site (Premium/Creator)
   • Avatar: Your profile picture
   • Cover Image: Your profile banner (Premium/Creator)

Managing Your Creations

In the "Your latest creations" section:

• View all segments you've created
• See generation status:
  • Queued: Waiting to be processed
  • Processing: Currently being generated
  • Complete: Ready to play
  • Failed: Generation encountered an error (tap to retry)
• Delete: Remove a segment (tap and hold or use the menu)
• Download: Save to your device (Creator tier only)

Viewing Interactions

Tap Interactions to see all content you've liked:

• Filter by type: All, Segments, Users, Live Radios
• Tap any item to view it
• Remove likes by tapping the heart again

Account Settings

Access Settings to manage:

• Language Preference: Change app language
• Email Notifications: Control what emails you receive
• Change Password: Update your account password
• Sign Out: Log out of your account
• Delete Account: Permanently remove your account

How to Subscribe

1. Go to your Account tab
2. Tap "Go Premium" or "My Subscription"
3. Choose Premium or Creator
4. Select Monthly or Annual billing

Managing Your Subscription

1. Go to Account > My Subscription
2. View your current plan and billing date
3. Tap "Manage Subscription" to:

Credits System

Credits are musen's currency for creating segments.

What Are Credits?

Credits are used to generate new audio segments. The more complex your segment (more speakers, longer duration), the more credits it costs.

Buying Credits

1. Go to your Account tab
2. Tap "Buy Credits"
3. Choose a credit pack:

5. Credits are added to your account immediately

Viewing Your Balance

Your credit balance is displayed:

• On your Account screen
• In the Create screen before generating
• In the confirmation after creating a segment

How Credits Are Used

Credits are consumed when you create segments:

The exact cost is shown before you confirm generation.

Creator Monthly Credits

Creator tier subscribers receive 25 free credits every month. These credits:

• Are added automatically on your billing date
• Accumulate if unused (they don't expire)
• Can be used alongside purchased credits

Social Features

musen is built around community and discovery.

Liking Content

Show appreciation for content you enjoy:

• Segments: Tap the heart icon on any segment
• Live Radios: Like a radio station to save it
• Creators: Follow your favorite creators

Liked content appears in your Interactions section.

Following Creators

1. Visit a creator's profile
2. Tap "Love it!" to follow them
3. Their content will be prioritized in your feeds

Sharing Content

Share segments and profiles with others:

1. Tap the Share button on any segment or profile
2. Choose your method:
   • Copy Link: Copies the URL to your clipboard
   • Native Share: Opens your device's share menu

Shared links open directly to the content, and segments can auto-play when opened.

Reporting Content

If you encounter inappropriate content:

1. Tap the Report button (flag icon) on the content
2. Select the reason for reporting
3. Submit your report

Our team reviews all reports and takes appropriate action.

Your Interactions

View all your social activity:

1. Go to Account > Interactions
2. Filter by type:
   • All
   • Segments
   • Users
   • Live Radios
3. Tap any item to view it
4. Remove interactions by unliking/unfollowing

Personalization

The more musen knows about your preferences, the better your experience.

Training Your Radio

Improve recommendations by training your preferences:

1. Go to Account > Train Radio
2. You'll see interest cards for various genres, moods, and themes
3. Swipe Right (or tap heart) for interests you love
