This roundup is written by the musen team, so read our own entry with that in mind. Five axes, scored 1–5. Curation: how good the AI actually is at picking what plays next. Hosts: whether you can have an optional voice layer. Catalogue: existing music or generated, and how deep. Availability: which platforms it runs on today. Price: what a year of use costs. Products reviewed in July 2026; details change, so check each product’s site before deciding.

Noema AI (melodaistudio.com)

Best for: iOS users who like mood-tile UX and enjoy AI-generated music. Tap a mood (Focus, Relax, Workout, Sleep) and playback starts, no account needed for radio; a Pro tier at $9.99/month unlocks custom generation and full library access. The mood-tile pattern is elegant and the generated tracks feel coherent across a session. Missing: no Android, no existing-music catalogue (it generates everything), no host layer. Scores: Curation 4 / Hosts 1 / Catalogue 1 (generated) / Availability 2 / Price 3.

Radiant

Best for: people who want an AI DJ layered on top of a streaming library they already pay for. Radiant’s DJ ("Rad") curates from your listening history and drops commentary, news, and weather between songs; you can set its voice and how often it talks. Radiant originally launched on Spotify and later switched to Apple Music after a licensing dispute, so check which service it currently supports before installing. Missing: its own catalogue (it depends on your streaming subscription) and a standalone experience. Scores: Curation 4 / Hosts 4 / Catalogue 4 (your streaming service’s) / Availability 2 / Price 3 (free app, but requires a paid music subscription).

musen (musen.live)

Best for: listeners who want a standalone, continuous AI radio of existing music with an optional AI Host, on iPhone or Android. You sign up, swipe a few taste topics, and steer the radio with typed, voice, or picture requests. Missing: offline listening, direct track selection, and cross-service imports; the catalogue is smaller than the big streamers’ and growing. Scores: Curation 5 (we would say that; try it) / Hosts 4 / Catalogue 3 (smaller than Spotify, growing) / Availability 3 (iOS, Android) / Price 5 (free, no paid features in the current release).

Recommendation by use case

Daily background music while you work or chore: musen. Generated music for ambient sessions: Noema. You already pay for a streaming library and want an AI DJ talking on top: Radiant. Pure music discovery without any AI commentary: musen with the Host off, or your streamer’s discovery playlists.

What we got wrong in earlier versions of this post

Earlier versions overrated Noema’s catalogue depth (it’s good for ambient, limited for vocals), described Radiant as a Spotify companion after it had moved to Apple Music, and included a browser-based "AI Radio" demo that no longer looks maintained. We also underrated how good Radiant’s DJ is at conversational pacing; it’s the most polished host layer we’ve heard. Updated 2026-07-19.
